Post-Modern Drunk: A Week in the Life
A co-worker challenged me with a simple question: "How much do you drink, really?" Undissuaded by my assurance that I drink a fair amount, he made a simple request: for me to keep a log of my drinking, for a month.
This is the result of the first week of this log. For simplicity's sake, a bottle of wine counts as four glasses, a pint of beer counts as one drink, and each shot in a mixed drink counts as one. I make all my drinks as doubles. The amount of money I spent on the drink follows each drink. An * denotes something purchased at a bar or restaurant, while a # denotes drink someone else bought for me. For each drink I poured myself, the price appears on the first drink consumed from the bottle. The time spent drinking appears next to the header.
