I woke up at 5:30 this morning, before the birds. Showered and voted before seven. Election day is better than Christmas for me. I do love it. The warm light of the community center, signs everywhere, volunteers handing out literature; it's just all very exciting. I really wanted to work on this election for Jim Webb, but a medical condition (irrational fear of committing myself to anything meaningful) kept me from doing so. I will be kicking myself all night as I am sure the victory party will be wild.
My predictions for Senate races (for posterity- feel free to tease me tomorrow for all the ones that I get wrong):
CT - Lieberman PA- Casey OH- Brown RI - Chafee MD - Cardin TN - Corker MO - McKaskill (sp?) VA - Webb MT- Tester
Anyway, go vote if you can. And be kind to your poll workers - they're putting in 16-hour days today for little or no pay. They are good people.
