sunshine jen: My Meta Mined Morning
With the Edward Snowden affair, there has been a lot of talk about secret NSA projects and meta data mining. I decided to add to the meta pile by revealing a few mundane details about myself for the public record. This was the first hour of my morning:
Woke up at 0627 PST blinked twice looked out the window at the sky and realized it really was morning and oh lordy I had lived to see another day and I was still alive on this planet and it was all not a dream and it was a reasonable time to get up if I wanted to get up and do I really want to get up or wait ten minutes? This pondering lasted approximately twenty minutes; then I got up and placed two bare feet on the hardwood floor although sometimes I wear socks to bed although I usually kick off the socks in the middle of the night. I move a lot in my sleep. While balancing on my feet, I thought about friends abroad and wondered how their day was going and if they were having a good lunch. Upon reaching a full stand, I realized I was stiff in the legs which happens more frequently now than five years ago. I shook out the legs, slipped into slippers, and wobbled into the kitchen where I put water in the kettle and a tea bag in the cup since my morning beverage preference is tea. I gave up morning coffee several years ago because it gives me too much of a jolt and I prefer to ease into my day. I like my tea with milk but no sugar although vanilla rice milk gives it a nice zing. I also placed one slice of whole wheat bread into the toaster which I set to high. Even though I don't like burnt toast, the toaster on high will give the bread a nice dark brown quality. I took the blueberry preserves and vanilla rice milk out of the refrigerator. I don't have a specific jelly/preserves/fruit spread preference. I can't commit to just one berry flavor. Prior to the blueberry preserves, I had a super fruit spread. When the kettle popped, I poured the water into the cup and let it sit for a moment. I then turned on the news of the day and listened while I poured rice milk into my tea and spread blueberry preserves on my toast. I ate and drank with relish. I like sweet food in the morning. Upon finishing my breakfast, I put the toast plate and knife in the dishwasher and returned the blueberry preserves to the refrigerator. I turned on the kettle for a second cup of tea. Once the second cup of tea was made, I sat for the next forty-five minutes to read a literary novel. You can easily find out which literary novel through my library records. As I read, I sipped my tea, but I soon was absorbed in the book and forgot about the tea. As a result, the tea sadly became cold.
