sunshine jen: Happy Sediments Day
Tomorrow is Presidents Day in the United States, but I have decided to use the day to celebrate something we all share, Sediments.
According to the National Geographic Society: Sediment is solid material that is moved or deposited in a new location. Sediment can consist of rocks or minerals or the remains of plants or animals. It can be as small as a grain of sand or as large as a bolder.
With so much in motion on the planet right now, it feels right to take a day to be express sentiment about sediment. Areas with a lot of sediment are rich in biodiversity which means good soil for crop growth.
As we drink our coffee and admire the grounds in the bottom of the cup or as we stir our ice tea and let the sugar settle on the bottom, let us remember the sediments throughout our world and their long sedimental journey.
