Art Colony: Summer Fashions

today is one of those days when I wish I was working with a very chatty co-worker so we could commiserate and talk about how the new styles for spring are just so appalling and have fun dishing about Celeb gossip like the Clay Aiken webpics. Blargh.
Does Winter in Wisconsin ever really end? I bought a swimsuit today and somehow I don't think I'll ever get to wear it. Or, if I ever do anticipate wearing it, I have to either start tanning or using fake tanner because I am so pale that I'd reflect and concentrate the rays of the sun like the Disney Hall. One must sandblast to reduce the glare.
I went to the mall today for what must be one of the most truncated shopping excursions ever. I was looking for tights, the kind that Old Navy used to sell, which were just great--warm and comfortable and long-lasting. Instead, the store was packed with summer fashions. I am simply appalled by the cargo-pants-and-peasant-blouse-baggy-shirt combinations, it's like all the clothes make women look pregnant or visually add the illusion that they've gained 20 pounds. I also don't get what's up with buying jeans that have been pre-splattered with bleach (I could do that myself with no effort) or generally pre-ruined.
Things I did buy besides the swimsuit: the last pair of tights on the clearance rack, a really cute DKNY sweater that was on clearance, and a cool t-shirt with cherry blossoms on it.
Tomorrow is going to be one of those mega-days of busy. wish me luck!
