Nutshell Kingdom: #
2002

I got very little sleep last night. Thursdays can be a little hectic, emotionally. What with only one more day of work and all. I'm a little slow this morning and did not shower. Instead, I fake it with a little Bay Rum and by tucking my shirttail in. Something I never do on a good night's rest.

Last night I saw one of my favorite movies on TV. "Local Hero," directed by Bill Forsythe. For those who have never seen it, it is a funny, quirky little movie about a Houston oilman who is sent to rural Scotland to buy a small coastal village. It stars Peter Riegert, of "Animal House" and "Crossing Delancey" fame, and the inestimable Burt Lancaster. Highly moving. Highly recommended for all those people with supposed real jobs. The scenery reminds me of Monhegen Island in Maine, which is probably why I love this film so much. Ah well, now is the time to think of the weekend. I will be back, happier and better rested.
