I have this friend, Greg, who really likes this girl. He's sort of taking a yearlong ride on The Depths of Depression rollercoaster, so he probably wouldn't be to keen on listening to any "great advice" I would have to him, but I hit upon one of his problems with women. It's a common one most of us "dreamers" have: He builds up every person that he fixates on SO MUCH in his head. He scrutinzes and forms a huge, enveloping opinion of them. He thinks of them with every aspect of his day. They could be the one. This is important. He must concentrate on NOT FUCKING UP one ioata. Everything must be perfecto. All the signs are good. He goes and talks to her frequently, bringing gifts as such. He is in quasi-love with her. This could be IT. This could be the LIFE!!!! .... What he forgets? The girl. SHE doesn't realize any of this. From her point of view, this is an interesting guy who seems pretty cool and then he FREAKS OUT a bit on her by going overboard with declarations and gestures. Greg doesn't think of the girl. The way he should go into it is thinking "what a great girl". I'll make myself available for any contact she wants: friends is fine, lover is great, life companion is swell. Whatever. Well, that's just my opinion.
