LisaMay Rocks the house
Lisa and her boy Craig sent us a 'happy anniversary' card - it was uber sweet. She used little bits of things from our wedding, like the funny little 'fortunes' that were in the fortune cookies that we gave out.
It was painfully sweet.
And it included tissue paper, which the cat liked.
LYLAS!

Angry Ass People
I spent a lot of time yesterday on CitySearch looking up info on various restaurants for our 'annual wedding observation day' dinner, so I could call them and see if they are open on Mondays. Most were not.
Ugh.
CitySearch has some of the most annoying reviews on it, though. Granted, I have had some real crappy meals in my time, but I have to believe that some of the reviewers are just generally cranky for reasons totally separate from the actual dining experience.
(BTW, CitySearch, thanks for the constant pop-up ads - makes me really want to come back often.)

The most amazing reviews came from Britney Spear's new 'Southern' restaurant NYLA - they seemed to be made up of 12 year olds from outside the city who loved it, and cranky New Yorkers who haven't even been.
My faves...
"YOU ARE JUST MAD THAT A GIRL HALF YOUR AGE HAS HAD THIS MUCH SUCCESS IN HER LIFE. "
"BRITNEY, I REALLY ENJOYED YOUR RESTAURANT AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE"
more

and then there is this one, which you just really have to see for yourself

Then you have angry guestbook posters.
I was on Liz's site, and some guy is posting this really *brilliant* shit on her guestbook.

Food
Last night, we ended up trying out this place called NYC - original name, eh? Our friend Joanna had recommended it because she had to review it a while back. It's where the Greenwich Café used to be (Lisa+Craig took us there for the first time actually) and has the same owners, but a bit more upscale. The food looked good and quite tasty. Their wine list I thought was a bit overpriced in comparison to the food, though. And Mrs. Robot gave the crème brulee kind of a thumbs down.
The staff was friendly and prompt and professional.
We sat near the window and watched people walking their dogs.
