Pony: banana bread
8.21.2006

Kiff and I had a banana bread bake-off yesterday afternoon, since the temp cooled enough to make turning the oven on conceivable.

Kiff's was from the Rebar cookbook, filled with good things, like sour cream, nuts, and toasted wheat germ.

Mine was the classic recipe with chocolate chips from the Joy of cooking.

Mine looked perfect, but had zero nutritional value and tasted like cake, while Kiff's was moist and multi-dimensional in flavour/texture (though less aesthetically pleasing).

I can't tell you how much banana bread I ate, it would be too embarassing, but we did give two loafs away.
I blame the hormones. But I see many more cakes in my future.
