Sunday Cocktail: The Rheingold
Here's the recipe that you'll find online:
5 parts Gin
3 parts Cointreau
1 part Dry Vermouth
1 part Campari
Twist of Orange peel

What the hell are "parts"? I mean, I understand but give me ounces. Or liters. Or gallons. So I used maths and I think these numbers are right (if not, this is a good cocktail nonetheless). Maths!

1.5oz Gin
1oz Grand Marnier
.25oz Dry Vermouth
.25oz Campari
Awkward lousy orange peel twist thing

Nice. I like it. Campari and gin versus Grand Marnier is a nice balance.
People might want a tad more acidity. I can't get my orange peels to look right, so maybe that is it but next time I might add a dash or two of lemon juice (or lime?) to brighten it up.

History?
I wonder where this cocktail came from? Usually you can find something online, but not this one. Every recipe I came across was copied verbatim (and honestly all of the sites seemed like click-bait) without any comments or notes.
