Dear Gabriel on your 2nd day birthday
What is going on?
How was your first day?
Do you still have jet lag from the trip? Is there a time difference in the womb?

OK. Let's see. First, you live in Toronto. I went there once in February and almost froze my adult butt off. I am sure it's pleasant in the other seasons so don't freak out about the weather.

There's a great sushi restaurant in downtown Toronto that I'd be more than willing to take you to once you get settled and comfortable in your settings. When I went there it was the first time I had sweet shrimp *AND* liked it.
If you don't like sweet shrimp the first time, I can understand that. No pressure.
We can just order a few small dishes and go from there.

What do you generally like? Eel? Yellowtail?

Let's see.
What else...

This is funny. The other day I was on the train (well, actually it was the "subway" but we call it "the train") and smelled this odd smell.
It kind of smelled like a bum (or a real dirty person who hasn't showered for weeks (the concept of a "week" might be tough to grasp right this second)) or it smelled like fresh baked bread.
And I got to thinking, "Bum and bread must share something in common as if there is a thin line that separates the two and once over the line it's quite obvious what the scent is but right now I am on that thin line and I am not sure if it's bread or a bum."

Sadly, I never figured it out as I had disembarked the train (we say "disembarked" instead "it was my stop and I had to get off").

Hey. So you should come down to NYC soon and meet your cousin, aunt, and uncle.
Do your parents have to come as well?

No, I like them a lot, it's just that I imagine that they will hassle us about all the drinking.
I mean, do whatever.
But. Yea.
