Also Good

I'm half asleep on the N. Too late to buy a cup of coffee before I board in Brooklyn for my 40 minute commute. In fact I have about 15 minutes to get to work, but I try to distract myself with last week's Entertainment Weekly. An article about that girl in that Alias show. You can tell how closely I was reading it.
So I'm sitting on the outside seat and some scruffy guy with a coffee cup gets on at 8th Street and slides in by the window. I ignore him jealous that he has coffee and I don't and I am 4 minutes late to work now anyway.
He starts making funny noises.
I'm like, this guy looks scruffy, at least in my peripheral vision, but he doesn't smell homeless or anything. So I hazard a glance.
OH, he's a bird guy.
He's holding this little green and yellow thing. He had it in the coffee cup and now it's crawling all over him. This bird loves this guy. You can tell he's biting the guy and grooming him.
Now that's love.
So, that's some bird you got there.
Thanks. It's a yellow conyer.
Oh, really? That's nice. It's pretty cute. How old is it?
7 months.
And you're taking it to the vet?
No - I take Gomie to work with me.
Gomie?
Gom Tov. In Hebrew that means "Also Good".
