We were disappointed to hear the bike theft series will not be airing this month but given the mass of upcoming elections it's totally understandable.
Kate and I had a blast doing research for this story: We have spoken with insurance agents, bike shop owners, the Community Bicycle Network and municipal employees who have spoken all passionately about bike theft in Toronto.
We also collected more than two dozen written bike theft testimonies from members of the CBN listserve for a Web feature I've been working on. The stories span all generations and backgrounds - from a kid whose bike was stolen from outside the synagogue while he attended Bar Mitvah classes to a low-income senior citizen who lost her only independent mode of transportation.
Given the overwhelming response to our research, we hope you will consider taking this up again in the spring, perhaps for Bike Week.
