What are the odds?
by Nick
She had the deepest blue eyes I ever saw, and long red hair. We walked on the beach that night, her hair blew in the wind , she was free spirited and always smiling and lover of life. I was hooked and saw her as much as I could. For three years we built our relationship, fell in love, had great times, had sex like rabbits, she even thought for a while she was pregnant. It was ok, because we loved each other and wanted a life together.
I proposed at the same beach we first met, she said yes.

We planned our wedding, set a date, she bought a dress. Both sets of parents came to meet each other for the first time.

My mother is the younger sister of her mother.

My mom ran away when she was sixteen to marry my dad; they hadn't seen or spoken to each other in thirty years. I was weeks away from marrying my first cousin. Her mom made such a stink, that she make sure we'd never get a marriage license in this state.

We can't have children together for fear of a child with three heads and adoption didn't see a feasible solution. I let her go so she could have what she wanted. I hold out hope that she'll come back now that marrying your cousin isn't as taboo as it used to be
